Ribbon belts

Ribbon belts are the perfect fit for fashion lovers of every age. Roll up a belt for a cute stocking stuffer. Or group multiple belts in complementary colors and prints in a boxed set.

Grosgrain ribbon
Pair of D-rings, slightly wider than the ribbon's width
Sewing machine or needle and thread

  1. Measure your waist or hips, depending on where you want the belt to sit. Then add 10 inches to that measurement.
  2. Cut the ribbon to twice the total measured length. Fold it in half with the right face of the ribbon showing on both sides and pin together.
  3. Starting at the folded edge, stitch around the perimeter of the ribbon, staying close to the edge.
  4. Thread the cut end of the ribbon through both D-rings. Fold the cut edge under ¼ inch, then fold it down again to cover the D-rings, about ¾ - inch, securing them snugly but not tightly.
  5. Stitch across the cut end of the ribbon, enclosing the D-rings.
